This is my dream dog! I wanted a Lundehund since I was about 11 years old, when we got a Scandinavian book about dogs and I liked the funny name. Some years later Internet became popular and I found out more about Lundies and my wish grows. I’ve ever been a bit unconventional, what kind of dog could fit better to me than the most special breed in the world!?
It should take some more years, where I couldn’t get another dog as my parents where satisfied with 2. And also it was not really easy to find a breeder.
2004 there really was one Lundehund entered in our local dog show: Lena an USA import living in the Czech Republic. I directly reserved my puppy out of, whenever this would be.
And I still needed to wait as Lena was still young and first mating wasn’t successful. Shortly before Christmas 2005 I got the great news that Lena gave birth to 4 beautiful and healthy pups. After nearly 15 years my Lundehund dream should become true! An so “Astrid Lonewolf” joined us in the beginning of 2006. I named her “Ylvie”, which means little female wolf.
Ylvie as a great and funny character. She is not a bit anxious, like Lundies sometimes are said to be.
She also has a great will to work and earn treats, so she’s very easy to train and in my opinion she has a great potential in dog sports. At this time we only finished the puppy and the youngster course in dog school. But we are not satisfied with this ;-)
Ylvie is really a great show dog. She has a very beautiful head, excellent extra toes and all Lundhund specials, but first of all she’s very showy and loves to be presented in the ring – sometimes she loves it a bit too much and makes a bit too much of nonsense. But nevertheless she finished Austrian and Croatian Junior Champion and got the titles Austrian Junior Winner and Slo. Junior Club Winner. And of course her biggest success at the World Dog Show ’06, where she won Junior class against 2 Scandinavian females and so made it to World Junior Winner and also was awarded the Junior-BOB against a male from Finland. And all this happens before Ylvie celebrated her 1st birthday!
